“The signature mixed use office, computing center and retail complex has the Georgia Institute of Technology as its anchor tenant. The complex is programmed around high-performance computing (HPC) modeling, simulation and an innovative ecosystem – integrating the existing complex with new opportunities in interdisciplinary research, commercialization and sustainability.
Coda was designed to promote a spirit of community with both fixed and fluidly defined spaces that create interactions between academia and professionals. Microcosms such as lively active spaces and inviting nooks create this nurturing environment for people to come together. The 63 ft arcade acts as a gateway into a new world and is based on the Italianate style brick structure built on the site in 1927. Because of the pedestrian activity in the area, the parking is 5 floors below ground leaving one third of the site open to a public plaza with a foodhall, a 72’ long multimedia screen, seating and an iconic landmark column stage for events. The taller south and east towers are pushed away from the small historic building to allow it to shine.
The key to this MultiExperiential design is creating a seamless environment where walls of formality are gone. Coda will serve as a beacon for the city of Atlanta, attracting leading technology talent.”
