B.J. Laterveer is a Principal and Senior Vice President at Portman Architects, in Atlanta, GA.  He has received a Bachelor of Design from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Southern Polytechnic State University. Mr. Laterveer is a registered architect in the state of Georgia, and he is a member of the American Institute of Architects. He has over twenty-three years of experience in the field of Architecture and has an extensive background in high-rise and mid-rise construction, mixed-use buildings, multi-family developments, building design, site planning, office, retail, and adaptive reuse. In his dynamic career, Mr. Laterveer has worked on such notable projects as Sovereign in Buckhead, GA, Avalon in Alpharetta, GA, The Battery at SunTrust Park in Atlanta, GA, 150 Main Street Apartments in Salt Lake City, UT, and over twenty-five thousand multifamily units.  Over twenty-three years and many special projects, Mr. Laterveer has developed a unique style of interaction with the development community.  He looks at every project equally through the development lens and the architecture lens.  With this dual approach he has been able to produce viability, value, and profitability alongside high level architectural design.
