Robert Halverson
Robert Halverson, AIA, NCARB is an accomplished Principal at Portman Architects. As the President / CEO and Managing Principal of Portman Architects, he oversees the day to day business operations, manages business development opportunities and guides the long-term growth strategy for the company. In addition, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. In these positions, Rob guides Portman Architects global practice strategies and ensures that Portman Architects’ priorities truly reflect the organization’s values: client service, world-class design and creating successful environments in which people succeed.
With more than 25 years of professional experience in the United States and Asia, Rob leverages resources from our design studios in the United States and Asia. This approach enables the best talent and firmwide resources to come together for the benefit of our clients and the operations of the practice. Rob’s work includes the design of corporate headquarters, large scale mixed-use developments, five-star hotels, high-end residential as well as higher education facilities. His leadership is defined by a command of design excellence and a passion for high quality delivery. As represented in his projects, Rob approaches his work with a rigorous and collaborative design process that is centered on ensuring that client aspirations connect directly with high performance design. Rob received a Bachelor’s of Architecture from Syracuse University, a Masters of Architecture from Yale University, is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is registered to practice in eight states. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), and the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). Rob is also honored to serve as a Board Member for the School of Architecture at Syracuse University as well as The Executive Advisory Board of the School of Design at Georgia Institute of Technology.
