Portman participates in MA10 ‘Design in Human’
ATLANTA, GA – May 3, 2010 – John Portman & Associates, Inc. (PORTMAN) is pleased to announce our participation in “Design is Human,” Modern Atlanta’s weeklong citywide series of events that are diverse in content, eclectic in spirit, and international in appeal. Featured speakers and exhibitors are all independent minds, each pushing the boundaries of applied modern design.
PORTMAN supports the mission of Modern Atlanta (MA) – to inspire, educate and delight, while also encouraging sustainable practices in the corporate and public spheres. Through its design exhibitions, experiences, and conversations, MA explores all facets of the creative process, from idea to implementation. MA shows that Atlanta is a catalyst for design – at once bold, subtle, practical, and unexpected!
Mr. Miller’s lecture, “PORTMAN: Then and Now” covers the firm’s history, design philosophy and the evolution of its work, beginning in Atlanta and leading up to current projects around the world. The lecture will be from 5 to 6 pm on Saturday, June 5th at Rich Auditorium in The High Museum of Art. The program is free, but seating is limited. Tickets are available through the Woodruff Arts Center Box Office at 404-733-5000
