Portman Architects is an iconic international architectural design firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. As President and Chief Executive Officer, Chris is a servant to the firm and a steward of the company brand. Chris oversees Portman Architects overall performance while applying his over 25 years’ experience in architecture, serving clients, project delivery, building and supporting teams.

Chris finds success through forging strong relationships and building multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects on challenging schedules. His experience spans numerous project types including high-rise residential, luxury hospitality, adaptive reuse, master planning, allied health, educational laboratories, athletics & entertainment, historic rehabilitation, multi-phase renovations and higher education.

He is passionate about realizing clients’ visions through an inclusive design process. He activates consultants early to harness the power of collaboration and integrated design. His team-centric approach extends into the construction phase where Chris works closely with construction professionals and trade experts to achieve the projects’ goals. Chris is a LEED accredited professional with experience in energy efficient and sustainable construction standards that include certification programs such as LEED, EarthCraft, and IFLI Living Building.

In his free time, Chris is an avid ultra-endurance mountain biker and all-around outdoor enthusiast. You can find him happiest with family, enjoying a cold beer by the campfire.
