Ellen joined Portman’s Shanghai office in September 2002 after working for the Shanghai Centre as a Marketing Assistant and then for US Persistence Software Company. Covering a wide range of commercial and operational duties, she’s now responsible for working closely with Portman Principals in Atlanta and Shanghai for contract negotiations with our China clients as well as project management. In addition to this Ellen also leads and coordinates marketing, administration, accounting and human resources functions.

A true believer that great design is achieved by great teams, and that the best ideas are a result of diverse collaboration and communication, Ellen instils this philosophy into every task and project she undertakes. She’s also been a key asset to positioning Portman as one of the leading international architectural design firms in the China market.

Having completed a Major in English at university, Ellen enjoys reading a good book outside of work and also keeps busy with swimming, listening to music and travelling in her free time.
