Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City Celebrates Topping Out Construction Milestone

SALT LAKE CITY – November 15, 2021 – Hyatt celebrated today Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City’s topping out, which recognizes the accomplishment of reaching the final design height of a building under construction. Located at 170 South West Temple, the 686,784 square foot Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City is on time and on budget and is slated to open in the fall of 2022.

“Today marks a significant milestone for Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City, a project Portman Holdings is proud to direct from development through construction,” said Ambrish Baisiwala, CEO of Portman Holdings. “The property is a continuation of our 54-year relationship with Hyatt.”

Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City will be a 25-story convention hotel that will offer 700-rooms, approximately 60,000 square feet of meeting space for seamless gatherings, two restaurants, two lounges, and a grab-and-go market. The lobby will allow guests to enjoy inviting spaces anchored by an elegant and striking double-sided stone clad fireplace.

Expected to open in the fall of 2022, Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City will be situated in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, attached to the Salt Palace Convention Center, and will attract a multitude of groups and conventions. The hotel will be a major participant of Salt Lake City’s vibrant and thriving urban hub, while providing breathtaking views of the snowcapped mountains.
