John Portman visits Harvard Graduate School for Design
Harvard Gazette staff writer Corydon Ireland’s article “High Art with a Human Touch” chronicles John Portman’s recent visit to the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Mr. Portman visited a studio class and sat down for a conversation with GSD Dean Mohsen Mostafavi.
John Portman (left), Founder and Chairman of John Portman and Associates, and Mohsen Mostafavi (right), Dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD), chat about the evolution and future of the design industry in a public discussion hosted by GSD on Tuesday, March 12. Portman, who said architecture is “…all about people,” also talked about highlights from his career transforming skylines across the world. The GSD has established the John Portman Visiting Chair in Architecture in his honor.
