Physical Education Center – Emory University
The George W. Woodruff Physical Education Center is a 187,000 sf (17,373 sm) multi-purpose physical education building and biomedical research facility. The 3-level structure is nestled into a hillside to complement the scale of the campus. This center provides intramural sports program facilities, including a basketball court, squash courts, rooftop tennis courts, a wrestling arena, indoor running track, a dance studio and an Olympic-size swimming pool with seating for 750 people. There’s also an all-purpose gymnasium and arena with seating for 5,000 people, 7 rooftop and 10 on-grade tennis courts, a 400-meter 8-lane track and a new soccer field with seating for 2,000 people. Materials utilized include concrete, stone and glass.
